Cascale is a global, non-profit alliance that brings together 300 leading brands, associations and institutions to work toward a shared vision of an industry that gives back more than it takes to the planet and its people.
Red Wing is part of a community of Cascale members, which include apparel, footwear, and textile brands, retailers, manufacturers, sourcing agents, service providers, trade associations, NGOs, and academic institutions.

Acknowledging the alarm bells—the textile industry alone accounts for up to 10% of global carbon emissions—we are committed to a minimum 45% reduction of GHG emissions by 2030.
The Higg Index
To reach this shared vision, Cascale developed the Higg Index in collaboration with its members, to create a global approach for effectively measuring and evaluating the social and environmental impacts of value chains and products.
The Higg Index is a suite of five tools that assess and measure the social and environmental performance of the value chain and the environmental impacts of products. These tools were developed to help organisations make systematic change by identifying, understanding, and measuring areas of improvement.
